Community housing providers are responsible for collecting, storing and managing sensitive and confidential information for and about their clients and stakeholders. This workshop explores the requirements, best practices and scenarios related to privacy, consent and confidentiality within a social housing context.


The workshop will provide delegates the opportunity to review and reflect their current practice against best practice and legislation to ensure client privacy is maintained.

The objectives of this workshop are for delegates to understand:

  • The importance of client privacy and the relevant legislation
  • Information sharing - who can/can't you share information with
  • Consents - collection, storage of consents, different types
  • Access to information - how to manage requests for sensitive information
  • Ensuring confidentiality - how do you ensure that sensitive information is managed securely


The workshop takes a blended learning approach using breakout rooms, polls, scenarios and quizzes to embed the learning.

She holds a post graduate degree in Social Science, Housing Management and Policy from Swinburne University with extensive experience in housing management and program development in community housing.
