ahi: Victorian Branch Member Expression of Interest

The Victorian Branch of ahi: is seeking professionals from the community housing and government sectors to register their interest in joining the Victorian Branch in 2023 as an active Branch committee member.

As the Big Housing Build continues and calls for greater investment in social and affordable housing are louder than ever, be at the forefront of the discussion and engage with your sector colleagues to drive connection, visibility and progress in the community housing sector.

We strongly encourage professionals from both the community housing AND government sectors to apply, as working together in all aspects is the best way forward.

The Victorian Branch typically meets up monthly in person or virtually to discuss key sector issues, plan events and engage with each other. We require committee members to attend all meetings and as many events as possible.

As a Branch committee member you'll assist with:

• Planning of events;
• Increasing visibility of the ahi:;
• Advocacy for an increase supply social, public and affordable housing;
• Increasing awareness of employment pathways into the sector; and
• Promoting membership and training opportunities provided by the ahi:

In return, you will have a unique opportunity to:

• Build your industry network;
• Gain informal mentoring from senior professionals;
• Raise your profile within the sector;
• Gain crucial committee and leadership experience; and
• Contribute to something special outside of the office

Branch Member activities include:

• Professional development and training;
• International Women's Day event;
• Industry reflection events;
• Expert panel discussions;
• Social networking events; and
• Communities of practice catch ups

Recruitment Process:

·         EoI Phase – 2 November to 15 November 2022

·         Application Phase – 17 November to 24 November 2022

·         Shortlist and interviews Phase – 1 December to 8 December 2022

Please be prepared to attend a virtual or face-to-face interview during business hours between 2 December to 9 December.

At this stage we are recruiting for general committee member roles only, with an opportunity to nominate for senior committee roles after 1 year of regular involvement.
