It won't be news to ahi: members and friends that Queensland and Australia are in the midst of a housing crisis. We are seeing it every day in our work, in low income households struggling to find somewhere to live.

This session will involve an informal facilitated discussion about how housing professionals and their organisations are responding to this crisis. What do you do when you have a lot of people in need who you can't house? Have you succeeded in finding strategies to help people get through, or creative ways for them to find housing? How are organisations supporting staff (or staff supporting each other) to deal with the stress of working in this field right now? What do you do to stop yourself being overwhelmed? What else would help us all to do this better and take care of ourselves in the process?

This is a networking session rather than formal training. We don't expect to come up with any magical solutions. Our hope is that the session will be an opportunity to learn from one another and find ways to do things a little better. At the very least, we can provide each other with moral support and have a good laugh while we're doing it.

For people who can attend in person, we will have snacks and drinks, and those who are able are free to come out for a drink together afterwards.

All housing sector colleagues are welcome (members and non-members), so please register your attendance via the 'register' button below and we look forward to seeing you there.

If you're unable to attend in person but would still like to be part of the discussion, you will be able to dial-in (details to be provided in due course), but we'd love to see as many people present as possible.

Registration is required to be assigned CPD points.
